Ok, I guess I am making this Weird Music Day by posting Weird Al early today and now this. Somebody linked to this video making fun of the way this girl dances. It is kinda funny, she moves very much like a nervous robot (sorry best way to describe it.) But, after the video ended something happened. I played the video again, but this time minimized the window. Yeah, I kinda fell in love with the song. It is so damn catchy.

I did a little research and found that this is a famous French singer named France Gall and she was preforming in a German 1960's American Idol-type show called Deutscher Schlagerwettbewerb. The song is not on iTunes and you can only buy the song through an expensive CD import. Needless to say, I have been just playing the song through YouTube for the last few weeks. I have searched high and low on the net trying to find translated lyrics, but no luck. I did however find the German lyrics and had them translated through good-old Babelfish. You can get the gist of the lyrics, but as you can see, its a little jumbled...

The song is way ahead of its time and a couple of people I have had listen to it were suprised it came from the 60s. Sure its a little quirky, but I find it extremely catchy. Besides, its not like you listen to any German-singing Frenchwomen anyways. What are you? A racist? Give it a try you bigot.
