Video: Shawshank Alternate Ending

See, I think this video is funny, but I find the story behind it to be a little bit funnier. This film student at a university was doing a little editing work, splicing a few movies together, and decided to have a little fun. He invited a few friends over to watch The Shawshank Redemption, friends that had never seen the movie. If you haven't seen it, it's a pretty moving drama and is regarded among movie-goers as one of the best films ever. If you don't believe me, just look where it's at the Internet Movie Database's Top 250.

Anyways this kid doesn't touch the material until the famous "Brooks scene," which is near the end of the movie. And it's a pretty long movie. So basically, you have a really good drama going. A bunch of people watching it for the first time and are pretty into it and then this happens. We can't imagine what those people thought after watching this, because we are in on the joke. We are watching only the clip and we know that we should expect something different. I just know I would be rollin' with laughter if I was in that position.

So you see, it's not great humor, but the story behind it makes it a little better.
